VNTANA Download Render

Pull a product render out of VNTANA and into ComfyUI as a real IMAGE tensor

The whole point of wiring ComfyUI into a 3D product platform is that you don't have to export, download, re-upload, and pray. VNTANADownloadRender is the "in" half of that loop: it takes a product UUID from your VNTANA workspace and hands you the product's render as a standard ComfyUI IMAGE tensor - the same thing LoadImage produces - so everything downstream just works.

How it works

Give it a credentials object and a product_uuid, and the node goes and does three things in sequence:

  1. Searches the product's attachments and keeps only the ones tagged as RENDER.
  2. Takes the first render in the list (attachments come back in ascending order, so "first" usually means oldest).
  3. Downloads the image blob and decodes it into a [1, H, W, C] float32 tensor in the standard 0–1 range.

The output is exactly one thing: image, an IMAGE. Because it's a proper ComfyUI tensor, it plugs into anything that eats an image - PreviewImage to eyeball it, an upscaler, a detailer, an img2img encode, an IPAdapter reference. It behaves like a local image because, to the rest of your graph, it is one.

One useful quirk from the source: it needs a workspace, same as the search node. Either set default_workspace_uuid on your Credentials node or pass workspace_uuid in here - there's no way around it, so just do the default once.

The workflow shape

The canonical pattern for this pack is a chain:

VNTANACredentials → VNTANASearchProducts → VNTANADownloadRender → PreviewImage / your processing

Search returns product_uuids as a list, so grab one UUID (index helper or just hardcode it after the first run) and feed it in. From there it's ComfyUI business as usual - the render becomes just another image in your graph.

Installing

Same pack as all the VNTANA nodes, and it's a light one - pure REST client, no model downloads, no GPU work. Clone and install, or use Manager and search "vntana-comfyui-node":

cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/VNTANA-3D/vntana-comfyui-node
cd vntana-comfyui-node
pip install -e .

Restart ComfyUI. Dependencies are just requests and Pillow (plus numpy, which ComfyUI already has).

Troubleshooting

  • "No renders found for product ..." - the product genuinely has no render attachment on the VNTANA side. Check it in the platform dashboard; this node only surfaces what's there.
  • Wrong render? - it grabs the first RENDER attachment, which may not be the "hero" shot you wanted. If a product has multiple renders, this node is a bit blunt - it takes the first and doesn't let you pick. Work around it by choosing a product that has the render you want as its first one, or handle the selection on the platform side.
  • Workspace errors - same root cause as everywhere in this pack: no default_workspace_uuid set, and you didn't pass workspace_uuid either.

It's a small node with a single output, but it's the load-bearing one for anything that starts with "take our existing 3D product content and improve it in ComfyUI."
