Any To End

Let's be honest about what this node is. Any To End takes any value on its any input, ignores it completely, and returns the literal string "end" on its string output. That's the entire behavior. The source is nine lines of intent: the convert method reads the input and unconditionally returns ("end",). The input is decorative.

Is it useful? Sort of, in the way a fixed point is useful. It's the pack's most honest node - no options, no logic, no surprises, always "end" - which makes it a decent sentinel for testing. Wire it into the end of a string chain and you've hard-truncated whatever was flowing to the literal word "end", so you can see what downstream does with a known, fixed value. It's also a handy way to prove a wildcard socket works: because any is the * type, you can connect a model, a latent, an image, anything, and confirm the connection resolves to a valid string output. In that sense it doubles as a teaching toy for how the wildcard type behaves - a point the pack's other Any* nodes lean on constantly.

The one place it earns a real keep: as a placeholder while you're building a workflow. Need a string value in place before the real source exists? Drop Any To End, wire downstream, and swap the source in when you're ready. It's honest, it's deterministic, and it won't pretend to do anything it doesn't.

Category is Practical-Tools/String, which is about the least interesting fact about it, but it does tell you the author considers a string out. Don't expect an EOF marker, a terminal token, or any "end of data" semantics - it's the word "end", full stop.
