Any Index Strong is the big one in the Any Index family - twenty-five slots, value_0 through value_24, selected by a single integer index from 0 to 24. The output is a value of whatever type the selected slot carried. Same mechanism as the five-slot Simple and the fifteen-slot Any Index: this is the version you reach for when your graph has genuinely a lot of alternatives.

The reason the family is worth using at all is lazy evaluation, and it's baked into all three sizes. Every value_# input is marked lazy in the source, so ComfyUI asks the node "which inputs do you need?" before running and executes only the branch you selected. Twenty-five slots sounds absurd until you realize the other twenty-four are free - they're never computed. That's what makes a 25-slot picker practical rather than comical: a big prompt-variation grid, a model-roulette workflow with a stack of loaders, or a style-preset switcher where each slot holds a full conditioning chain.

Real talk on when NOT to use it: if you've got four or five alternatives, the fifteen-slot Any Index (or even the five-slot Simple) is easier for someone else to read. A 25-port node on the canvas is a wall of sockets, and legibility is the thing the node-plumbing layer is supposed to buy you in the first place. Reach for Strong when the number of choices is actually in the teens-plus, not because bigger feels more capable.

Behaviors, unchanged from its siblings:

  • Unconnected selected slot → None out (fine for an optional input, just not a surprise you want).
  • Widget enforces 0–24; a wired-in index outside that range returns None.
  • Only the selected upstream branch executes - the laziness is the whole point.

Install is pack standard: ComfyUI Manager → search ComfyUI-Practical-Tools → install → restart, or git clone https://github.com/wenchengxiang/ComfyUI-Practical-Tools into ComfyUI/custom_nodes. No dependencies, no model downloads. If a run comes back None where you expected a value, the selected slot is empty - that's the entire troubleshooting guide.
