Any Switch Strong is the maxed-out fallback switch in this pack - twenty-five inputs, any_1 through any_25, and it outputs the first one that isn't empty. No selector, no configuration: whichever upstream branch is live and lowest-numbered wins. Same pattern as the five-slot Simple and the fifteen-slot Any Switch, just with room for a genuinely sprawling graph.
Let me be direct about when you want this and when you don't. The fallback shape - "first non-null wins" - is a genuinely useful tool for keeping a dozen optional branches feeding one consumer: image from this generator, else from that one, else this saved file, and so on. Twenty-five inputs are great when your workflow is a real decision tree with many optional feeds. But a 25-port node is also a wall of sockets, and the thing the plumbing layer exists to buy you is legibility - the KB's node-plumbing doc is explicit that these tools fight repetition and illegibility, and a 25-slot switch that reads like a hedge fund wiring diagram is working against you. If five inputs cover it, use Simple. Reach for Strong when the alternatives genuinely number in the teens-plus, and consider a Bus In / Bus Out pair if you're actually moving a bundle of values rather than choosing one.
The mechanism carries a thoughtful touch from the whole family: the emptiness check treats a dict with model and clip keys as empty if either is None, so a half-loaded model/CLIP context doesn't count as a valid branch and get silently forwarded. The gotchas are family-wide too:
- Ordering is logic. First live input wins, silently. Move inputs and you move priority.
- Unconnected inputs are skipped. Output
Nonemeans every connected branch was empty - debug upstream, not the switch.
Install is pack standard: ComfyUI Manager → search ComfyUI-Practical-Tools → install → restart, or git clone https://github.com/wenchengxiang/ComfyUI-Practical-Tools into ComfyUI/custom_nodes. No dependencies, no models. If you only needed five slots, you can thank yourself later for reading this and picking Simple instead.
