cxSlider - Float
The float slider that respects your decimals
- FLOAT
Half the knobs worth turning in ComfyUI are floats, not integers: CFG, denoise, LoRA strength, regional weights, that one strength slider on your favorite detailer. cxSliderFloat is the floating-point sibling of the pack's integer slider, and it's the one you'll reach for when a parameter's useful range is something like 0.55–0.80 and a whole-number step would be useless.
Where the int version rounds everything to whole numbers, this one cares about the digits after the point - and the pack's author clearly knew that's the whole point, because the thing it adds beyond the int version is decimal handling.
How it works
The node is a single value input (FLOAT, default 1.0, range roughly ±3.4×10³⁸ which is float32's full span) and one FLOAT output. Same custom drag widget as cxSliderInt - drag the bar, double-click for an exact-entry dialog, clamp to min/max, Shift+drag to invert snap, Ctrl+drag to escape the bounds.
The property that matters here and has no int equivalent is padding: a string like "0.000" that controls how many decimal places are displayed (that's the default - three). So your 0.618 stays readable instead of flickering through every hidden digit as you drag, while the underlying value still keeps its full precision when it flows down the wire.
The usual knobs are all in the Properties panel:
- min / max - the useful range. Set CFG to 1–12, denoise to 0–1, whatever.
- step - snap increment (default 0.001, fine enough for most things).
- snap - on by default; turn it off and dragging feels continuous.
When you'd actually use it
Sweep-testing CFG or denoise is the obvious case - drag from one end to the other and watch the output change in real time instead of retyping a number every run. It also plays nicely with the "one source, many consumers" trick: wire the FLOAT output into several converted inputs and one slider drives CFG and a strength value simultaneously, which is occasionally exactly the linked-parameter experiment you wanted.
Install
Same pack as the others:
cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/VirusShell/comfyui-cx_sliders.git comfyui_cxslider
Restart ComfyUI, or install via ComfyUI Manager (search cx Sliders). No dependencies beyond the pack itself - no models, no pip requirements - and it wants ComfyUI 0.3.75+ for the widget APIs.
Troubleshooting
- Slider only moves in big jumps - lower the step in Properties, or hold Shift while dragging to bypass snap temporarily.
- Too many or too few decimal places - that's
padding. Set"0.00"or"0.0000"to taste; it only affects display. - The bar shows no text when zoomed out - that's deliberate. The pack skips fine detail (including the value label) at low zoom for performance. Zoom in.
