"Art Deco" is a word you can say with total confidence and still not be certain what it'll do to an image. MovementsImage_Zho fixes that. It's the art-movement slot in Zho's ArtGallery pack: 138 movements - Abstract Expressionism, Analytic Cubism, Art Deco, Action Painting, you name it - each with a reference image generated in SDXL, so you see the look before you commit the token.

    Why you'd reach for it

Movement names are the middle ground of style prompting: more descriptive than a single artist, but vaguer than you think. "Impressionism" reads differently to you than to the model, and nobody wants to discover that difference across five wasted generations. This node collapses that guesswork - you pick from previews that show exactly what the token produces in SDXL. It's the same "look before you leap" idea as the pack's artist node, aimed at the words people throw around most casually.

    How it works

Same machinery as the rest of the pack, which is to say: not much machinery. The dropdown lists 138 movements from Rikkar's SDXL 1.0 Artistic Studies, the same empirically tested prompt collection the pack is built on. Select one, and the bundled reference PNG loads as the node's preview. The outputs are the two you'd expect:

    • name - the movement as a weighted token (e.g. (Art Deco:1.2)) to drop into your positive prompt.
    • image - the preview as a usable IMAGE output (handy for an IP-Adapter if you want actual visual conditioning rather than a text token).

Inputs: the image dropdown (138 choices) and weight (0–1.75, step 0.05, default 1.2). Set the dropdown, set the weight, wire name into your prompt. That's the whole node, and it's better for being that simple.

    Getting it right

Default weight 1.2 is a fine start; movements tend to behave like mild style tokens, so you can usually push toward 1.4–1.5 before things get heavy-handed. One honest caveat: the author scrubbed NSFW from the movement gallery (there's a README note about it), so a few movements you might expect are missing. Rarely a problem in practice, but it's the kind of thing that confuses people who go looking for one specific movement and don't find it.

    Install and troubleshooting

Same as every node in this pack. ComfyUI Manager (search "ComfyUI-ArtGallery") or:

    cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
    git clone https://github.com/ZHO-ZHO-ZHO/ComfyUI-ArtGallery.git

Restart, and restart again if previews don't show - that's the author's stated fix, and it's the common one. No pip deps, no model downloads, fully offline. Worth knowing: the pack is early-2024 code with little update since, and there's an old community report of it (alongside other ZHO plugins) breaking image loading in one setup, resolved by removing the pack and reinstalling cleanly. If your UI starts acting up after install, that's the first thing to try, not the last.

    The SDXL caveat

Every preview was rendered with SDXL 1.0, so that's the calibration point. On SD 1.5 the same movement token will land differently; on Flux, movement names are a gamble no preview can rescue. For SDXL users this node is a genuinely nice way to shop for a mood.
