π Text List (8 -> list)
The Batch Prompt Emitter
- STRING
Of all the nodes in kyusu-nodes, Text List (8 -> list) is probably the one you'll get real daily mileage out of. It takes up to eight strings, bundles them into a list, and - because the node declares OUTPUT_IS_LIST - ComfyUI runs everything downstream once per string. Wire eight prompts in, hit queue once, and your encoder encodes all eight in a single pass. That's a batch prompt runner in one node, no loops, no scripting.
The mechanics are identical to the pack's Model and CLIP lists: make_list gathers text1β¦text8, quietly drops any input that isn't connected, and the OUTPUT_IS_LIST flag makes the graph execute once per item. Note the text inputs are forceInput - you wire strings in from text nodes or prompt builders rather than typing directly into the sockets, which is fine because you'd want them as editable widgets anyway.
What you'd do with it
- Variant batches - eight versions of a prompt, same seed and sampler, one press. Read the results side by side and keep the good one.
- Prompt/setting matrices - pair it index-for-index with the pack's Model List or Clip List (
text1withmodel1,text2withmodel2β¦) so each prompt runs against its matching checkpoint. - Style sweeps - feed it from wildcard or prompt-builder nodes to generate a controlled set of variations in a single queue.
Inputs and output
text1β¦text8- optionalSTRINGinputs, wired in from text sources.STRINGoutput (list) - into a CLIP Text Encode, prompt merger, or any string consumer; the engine runs that node once per item.
Category: Kyusu/list.
Install
Pure Python, no dependencies, no models:
cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/TaIIo4KuH/kyusu-nodes
or ComfyUI Manager β "Kyusu Nodes", restart.
Gotchas
- All-empty list runs nothing. Connect zero prompts and "once per item" means zero times: silent no-op. At least one slot must be wired.
- It runs everything it's given. Unlike the pack's switches, a list node doesn't pick - it emits the whole list, and the whole graph runs for each item. If you only want one of the eight, use Text Input Switch instead; if you want all eight, this is the tool.
- Every upstream producer still runs. ComfyUI executes all connected inputs, so whatever nodes feed the eight slots all fire on each queue item. For strings that's cheap, but if you're sourcing prompts from expensive nodes (an LLM call, a file read), you pay for all eight even if a slot's value ends up trivial.
