Mute Switch Pixaroma is the node for workflows that are really several workflows stapled together. If you've built a graph with two or three "scenes" - each ending in its own KSampler - and you find yourself muting a pile of nodes by hand every time you want to compare one scene against another, this is the fix. Wire the last node of each scene into a row, and one click turns that whole upstream branch on or off.

The inputs are plain * slots (up to 32 of them), each with a row pill on the node body. Wire the end of a scene in - "usually a KSampler," per the docs, though any node works - and clicking that row's pill toggles the entire branch upstream of that wire. Labels on rows are editable so you can name your scenes and tell "portrait pass" from "landscape pass" at a glance.

The two pills that define the behavior

Top-left: Single vs Multi. Single is a radio button - exactly one scene runs at a time. Multi lets any combination run. If you're comparing scenes one at a time, Single is what you want, because it structurally prevents "oops, I left two on."

Top-right: Mute vs Bypass. This is the distinction that trips people up. Mute means the scene doesn't run at all. Bypass means each node in the scene passes its input through unchanged - the scene executes but does nothing to the data, which is what you want when the scene feeds something downstream that still needs a value. If a muted scene leaves a dangling input, switch that row to Bypass.

One clever detail: when several scenes share an upstream node, that node only gets muted when every scene depending on it is off - so you can't accidentally break a scene that's still active by muting a sibling. And the output, out, is a phantom PIXAROMA_MUTE_CHAIN wire used purely to chain Mute Switches together: wire one switch's output into another's input row, and toggling the outer row off cascades and mutes everything the inner switch controls. That's how you group scenes - an outer switch picks the group, inner switches fine-tune within it.

There's also a right-click Enable all rows / Disable all rows shortcut (greyed out in Single mode, since only one can be on there).

Installing it

It's in the ComfyUI-Pixaroma pack - ComfyUI Manager search Pixaroma, Install, restart, or:

cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/pixaroma/ComfyUI-Pixaroma

No dependencies.

Gotchas

Two things worth flagging. First, Bypass and Mute aren't interchangeable - use Bypass when a scene's output feeds something that still needs a value, or you'll get a dangling-input error. Second, this is one of the few Pixaroma nodes whose controls historically lagged in the new "Nodes 2.0" interface - the changelog marks it as the last node adapted, so if the pills don't show up in the new interface, either flip to the classic one or update the pack. And the house rule: after an update, hard-refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) before assuming something's broken.

Outputs (1)

NameTypeDescription
outPIXAROMA_MUTE_CHAINPhantom pass-through used to CHAIN Mute Switches. Wire this into another Mute Switch's input row; toggling that outer row OFF will then also mute every node THIS switch controls (cascade). For normal data flow, wire your real nodes directly into Mute Switch rows - this output carries no real data.
