Character

The Character node is the biggest and most opinionated section in the Prompt Builder pack - 38 dropdowns covering everything from race to what's on their feet. The README calls it "the most detailed and impactful section," which is fair: this is where the character actually gets built, and it's the node you'll spend the most time in.

The pitch is simple. Instead of typing long silver hair, blue eyes, black t-shirt, ripped jeans and hoping you remembered the Danbooru tags right, you pick each from a curated list. Because these checkpoints were trained on Danbooru's tag vocabulary, the curated list is basically the model's own native language - that's the entire value of the pack.

How it works

Like every section node here, Character is a comma-joiner. It reads its option lists from presets.json, joins everything you selected, and outputs one string. None on any dropdown means "skip this field," which is the mechanism you'll use constantly - you're never forced to fill all 38.

Of the 38 fields, a beginner gets 80% of the value from maybe seven:

• race (83 options - human, elf, demon, vampire…) and body_type (slim, athletic, curvy, muscular…)
• hair_color, hair_style, and hair_length - hair is usually the single most recognizable thing about a character
• eye_color and top plus bottom - the outfit anchors

Everything else - skin_tone, face_type, mouth_state, eyeliner, blush, attitude, expression - is fine-tuning. And the pack gives you a lot of duplicate slots for stacking: three body_details fields (freckles, tattoos, piercings), two mouth_state slots, four accessory slots. Pick one or two in each, leave the rest on None.

The output is character - a string that feeds the character input on the pack's Combine Prompt node.

Install

Same as every node in this pack: no dependencies, no downloads. Clone it or use ComfyUI Manager (search "Prompt Builder"), then restart.

Common issues

Two honest warnings. First, this section is uncensored-leaning out of the box: breast_size, nudity, underwear, and sexual_attire are sitting right there in the dropdowns because the Danbooru vocabulary the pack draws from is inherently NSFW-capable. If that's not your thing, leave them on None - they're fully skipped and you never have to engage with them.

Second, resist the urge to max out the node. Every dropdown you set adds tokens, and on CLIP-encoded models the tail of a 38-field prompt fades into noise anyway. A fully-loaded Character node produces a long prompt, and long isn't the same as good. Pick the handful of fields that define the character, ship it, and reserve the rest of your prompt budget for the Action and Environment sections - that split consistently gives better results than one bloated Character node.
