cv2.detail.stitchingLogLevel

One integer, no inputs, mildly useful

cv2.detail.stitchingLogLevel
    • int

A node with no inputs that returns a single integer: the current log level of OpenCV's stitching module. That's it. There is no setter in this pack, so it's a read-only diagnostic - you can find out how chatty the stitcher's logger is, but you can't change it from a graph.

    What the number means

OpenCV's stitching module logs its stages as it works - feature finding, matching, warping, seam finding, blending - through a small internal logger with a verbosity level. This function reads that level. Higher numbers mean more output; the practical relevance is that when you run CV Stitch (Advanced) and watch the ComfyUI console, the volume of stitching chatter you see is governed by this value.

The honest conclusion: it's a curiosity. Nothing in a normal workflow needs to read this number, and because there's no corresponding setter node here, you can't use it to make the stitcher quieter or louder either.

    Where it isn't entirely pointless

    Two places, both niche.

First, as an environment check. The pack is generated: it wraps what your installed cv2 exposes, and every wrapper is resolved against that build at import time, with the ones that don't resolve being quietly skipped. This node showing up at all means the stitching module is present in your OpenCV and reachable from Python. When you're debugging why a whole category of nodes is missing - usually a plain opencv-python wheel overwriting the contrib build's shared site-packages/cv2 - a zero-input, zero-dependency node is a very cheap probe to run.

Second, when you're correlating console spam with a run. If you're trying to work out which stage of a stitch is failing, knowing whether the logger is even talking is one small fact. It won't fix anything, but it costs nothing to wire and it draws on nothing.

Beyond that, be realistic: this is one of the ~470 auto-generated cv2.* wrappers in this pack, and some of those are getters that exist because they're callable, not because anyone asked for them. The cv2.detail.* group is the stitcher's internals and the pack's own tooltips for these functions are blank placeholder text, because OpenCV documents the stitching module's public API and not its guts.

    Install

Manager → Install Custom Nodes → ComfyUI CV (publisher bmad4ever), or:

    cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
    git clone https://github.com/bmad4ever/comfyui_cv
    pip install "opencv-contrib-python-headless~=5.0.0.93"

Restart ComfyUI afterwards. Python ≥ 3.12 and a recent V3-API ComfyUI are required; the contrib headless OpenCV wheel is the only dependency, and nothing here needs a downloaded model. If this node or its cv2.detail.* siblings are absent from your menu, the likeliest cause is a non-contrib OpenCV install having emptied the contrib submodules - python tools/repair_opencv_contrib.py --check then --apply. The pack is GPL-3.0, a fork of geroldmeisinger/opencv-comfyui, largely LLM-written, and its author says outright it isn't production-ready and won't get prompt support.

    Common issues

    • You expected to set the log level. You can't - there's no setter node. This is a getter, and the level is whatever the module default is.
    • The node is missing. Use it as the diagnostic described above: check the ComfyUI console for a pack import error, confirm Python is 3.12+, and if only contrib-flavoured nodes are gone, repair the OpenCV wheel.
    • The value never changes between runs. Correct, and expected - nothing in ComfyUI is mutating the stitcher's logger.
