Audio Ring Mod

Multiply a clip by a sine carrier for metallic, robotic ring modulation, or shift every frequency in it by a fixed number of hertz for inharmonic, barber-pole effects. The carrier can wander with an LFO.

Inputs (8)

NameTypeDefaultDescription
audioAUDIOThe clip to modulate.
modeCOMBOring`ring` = sum and difference tones, bell and robot; `amplitude` = tremolo at audio rates; `frequency shift` = every partial moved by frequency hertz.
frequencyFLOAT300.0-5000–5000Carrier hertz, or the shift. `30` = rough buzz; `300` = robot voice; `-50` shifted = everything slightly flat and detuned.
depthFLOAT1.000–1`amplitude` only: how deep the modulation is. `1` = full; `0.3` = shimmer.
lfo_rateFLOAT0.200.01–20Hertz of the LFO moving the carrier. `0.2` = slow drift; `5` = warble.
lfo_depthFLOAT0.00–2000Hertz the carrier wanders either way. `0` = steady; `100` = sci-fi sweep.
mixFLOAT1.000–1`1` = fully modulated; `0.5` = blended; `0` = the input unchanged.
output_dbFLOAT0.0-24–24dB applied to the result. `0` = unchanged.
