Recraft Style - Realistic Image
The style node you didn't know was already defaulting
- recraft_style
This node doesn't generate anything. It's a small, boring-looking utility that produces a RECRAFT_V3_STYLE object - one wire carrying a style family plus a substyle - which you plug into the recraft_style input of the Recraft V3 generation nodes: Text to Image, Image to Image, Replace Background, Text to Vector.
Here's the thing worth knowing immediately: realistic image is the default style. If you use any Recraft V3 generation node without wiring in a style at all, you're getting exactly what this node hands out - realistic_image with no substyle. So this specific node is what you reach for when you want to say "photorealistic, but this flavour" and stop guessing.
The substyle list
Pick one or leave it at "None." The combo includes:
- None - plain photoreal, no flavour
- hdr, hard_flash, natural_light, motion_blur, urban_drama, studio_portrait, retro_snapshot, b_and_w, and more - roughly 19 photoreal substyles
A few stand out: studio_portrait is the headshot go-to, hdr does the saturated-look thing, retro_snapshot gives you that film-camera nostalgia, and b_and_w saves you a post-process step. The names are a bit arbitrary, honestly - faded_nostalgia, village_realism, warm_folk - so expect to try a couple before one clicks with your subject matter.
How to use it
Wire this node's output into the recraft_style input on the generation node of your choice. That's it. Because style is carried as an object rather than a string, you can swap style nodes without touching your prompt - which is exactly the workflow this was built for. Generate once with digital illustration, swap to realistic, regenerate, compare.
Getting it and gotchas
Ships with ComfyUI core. It makes no API call itself - the style only travels when you wire it into a generation node, and only that node is billed. The one real gotcha: this style object only works with the V3 generation nodes. The V4 family (RecraftV4TextToImageNode) doesn't take a RECRAFT_V3_STYLE input at all - V4 has its own model selection and no style system. If you're on V4, this node has nothing to plug into.
