Forty illustration substyles, one little node

Recraft's party trick has always been illustration. While other models were chasing photorealism, Recraft built out this enormous catalog of hand-tuned illustration styles, and this node is the catalog: pick a substyle, and it hands you a RECRAFT_V3_STYLE object to feed into the recraft_style input of the Recraft V3 generation nodes (Text to Image, Image to Image, Replace Background).

    The substyle list

This is the biggest single style menu in the Recraft family - around 40 entries on top of the "None" option. A few worth knowing by name:

    • pixel_art - exactly what it says, a nice shortcut
    • pop_art, street_art, noir - genre presets
    • child_book, young_adult_book - storybook illustration vibes
    • crosshatch, digital_engraving, engraving_color - the ink/print family
    • hand_drawn_outline, line_circuit, tablet_sketch - sketch-forward looks
    • long_shadow, plastic, grain - textural tweaks

The list also carries Recraft's dry naming conventions - vanilla_dreams, urban_glow, infantile_sketch - so treat the menu as a starting point and do a couple of passes before you commit. The substyle is one string, so swapping between them is trivial.

    How to use it

Plug the recraft_style output into the style input on a V3 generation node. The node makes no API call on its own - it just packages the choice. Generation, and billing, happen downstream.

    Gotchas

    • V3 only. The V4 generation nodes don't accept a RECRAFT_V3_STYLE input, so this node is useless in a V4 pipeline. If you're mixing, keep your V3 and V4 branches separate.
    • Strong styles overpower prompts. Illustration substyles are aggressive by design. If your prompt's subject keeps getting swallowed by the style, that's the style doing its job - reach for a milder substyle or "None" rather than fighting it in the prompt.
    • Text-to-vector uses its own substyle picker. The RecraftTextToVectorNode has a vector-illustration substyle dropdown built right in, so you don't need this node there. The digital-illustration family is for the raster generators.

Ships with ComfyUI core, nothing to install, no model files. It's a boring node that does exactly one thing, and for Recraft's design-focused look, it's the one you'll wire in most often.
