What it does

Subgraph Navigator is a floating panel for ComfyUI that shows every Subgraph in your workflow as a tree, at any depth. Click a Subgraph and the canvas goes straight there. Below the tree, a live map of the graph on the canvas lets you pan, zoom and jump to any node with one click.

Pin the nodes you use most, search every node in the workflow, and step back and forward through your jumps, collapse to the title bar to move it out the way.

It adds no nodes to your graph. It is a panel opened from the ComfyUI sidebar, and it works with the classic canvas and with Nodes 2.0.

Installation

  • ComfyUI Manager: search for Subgraph Navigator and install.
  • comfy-cli: comfy node install comfyui-subgraphnavigator
  • Manual: clone this repo into your ComfyUI/custom_nodes folder and restart ComfyUI.

After installing, a Subgraph Navigator button appears in the ComfyUI sidebar, right under Templates.

Features

Subgraph tree

  • Lists Root and every Subgraph, nested Subgraphs included, sorted by name.
  • Click a row and the canvas opens that Subgraph and centers on it.
  • Every copy is listed. If the same Subgraph is used more than once, each copy gets its own row, and clicking one opens that copy's own path.
  • Two Subgraphs with the same name side by side show their node ID (for example New Subgraph #12) so you can tell them apart.
  • A HERE badge marks the Subgraph shown on the canvas, and each row shows how many nodes it holds.
  • Double-click a row to rename the Subgraph.
  • Hover a row for quick actions: Move to… another graph, Duplicate, or Delete (with a confirmation).

Live map

  • A map of the graph on the canvas: nodes in their real positions, sizes and colors, groups, links, node IDs and an output-type badge on each node.
  • The blue box shows what the canvas is showing.
  • Drag the map to pan the canvas, and scroll wheel on it to zoom the canvas.
  • Click a node to center the canvas on it, at your current zoom.
  • Hover a node to see its name, with a star to pin it.

Quick access

  • Pinned: your favorite nodes, one click away. Pins are saved in the workflow file, so they travel with the workflow, and they follow a node even if ComfyUI gives it a new ID.
  • Recent jumps: the last nodes you jumped to.
  • ◀ ▶ in the header steps back and forward through your jumps.

Search

  • Searches every node in the workflow, inside every Subgraph.
  • Matches by name, type or node ID. You can also type muted, bypassed or unconnected, or a path such as 12:34.
  • Results list above the map, and matches are outlined in gold on the map. Click a result to jump to it.

Layout

  • Breadcrumb of where you are; click any part of it to go there.
  • Stacked (tree above the map) or side by side (tree left of the map) layouts.
  • Drag the divider between the tree and the map, drag the corner to resize, and drag the title bar to move the panel.
  • Click the title bar to collapse the panel to a small bar. X closes it.
  • Utility shows reroutes, notes, primitives and set/get nodes in counts, lists and search. Links shows or hides links on the map.

How to use

  1. Click Subgraph Navigator in the ComfyUI sidebar. Click it again (or the X) to close the panel.
  2. In Subgraphs, click the arrow next to a Subgraph to see the Subgraphs inside it. Click a row to go there.
  3. Use the map to move around: drag to pan, scroll wheel to zoom, click a node to center on it.
  4. To pin a node, hover it on the map and click the star, or click the star on any node row. Pinned nodes appear under Pinned.
  5. Type in Search all nodes to find any node in the workflow, then click a result to jump to it.
  6. Use ◀ ▶ to go back and forward through the nodes you jumped to.

Notes

  • Pins are saved in the workflow, so saving the workflow saves them. Opening the panel or jumping around never marks your workflow as changed.
  • Recent jumps and back/forward history are kept per workflow tab while ComfyUI is open.
  • No right-click menus and no keyboard shortcuts, so nothing clashes with ComfyUI or your other extensions.
