Directional Canvas Placement & Boundary Feathering Tools for Image and Video Outpainting in ComfyUI.
Effortlessly convert 16:9 widescreen footage to 9:16 vertical (or expand horizontally) with full control over where the original content is anchored and where new content is generated.

🌟 Key Features

  • 🧭 Precise Directional Control:
    • center (50/50 both sides): Symmetrical expansion on both sides (e.g. 50% top + 50% bottom).
    • bottom (outpaint TOP only / cielo): Anchors source at the bottom -> 100% of outpainted content is generated upwards (ideal for sky, ceilings, architecture, giving headroom).
    • top (outpaint BOTTOM only / suelo): Anchors source at the top -> 100% of outpainted content is generated downwards (ideal for full-body shots, legs, tables, roads, ground).
    • left / right: Horizontal expansion for ultrawide (21:9) cinema framing.
    • custom_vertical_bias: Fine-tune custom percentage distributions (e.g. 75% top / 25% bottom).
  • 🪶 Smooth Alpha Feathering: Generates soft boundary transition gradients to eliminate harsh seams between original video frames and AI outpainted regions.
  • ⚡ GPU Tensor Acceleration: Fully compatible with batched video tensors (LTX 2.5, MiniMax H3, Wan 2.1, Hunyuan, FLUX Inpainting).

🛠️ Installation

Method 1: ComfyUI Manager

  1. Open ComfyUI Manager.
  2. Search for ComfyUI-OutpaintDirectional.
  3. Click Install and restart ComfyUI.

Method 2: Manual Git Clone

cd ComfyUI/custom_nodes
git clone https://github.com/hyukudan/ComfyUI-OutpaintDirectional.git

Restart ComfyUI.
