[cozdx1] Google Translate Plus
Google or offline CPU translation for ComfyUI with preserved quotes, backticks, and inline previews.
Nodes (1)
ComfyUI Google Translate Plus
Translate prompts with Google Translate or an optional offline CPU model while keeping dialogue and selected phrases unchanged. The source text stays editable, and a read-only translation appears directly below it.
Search for cozdx1 in the node menu and add [cozdx1] Google Translate Plus.
Quick start
- Add [cozdx1] Google Translate Plus.
- Choose the source and target languages. Defaults: Auto-detect → English.
- Enter the source text and connect
translated_textto a prompt input. - Run Queue. The translation appears below the source text.
Queue translates the source text automatically. The Translate button previews the result before running the workflow.
Protected text
The default Quotes + backticks mode preserves these sections, including the delimiters:
- Double quotes:
"...",“...”,「...」, and『...』. - Single backticks for a phrase, or triple backticks for multiple lines.
Use double quotes for dialogue and backticks for other phrases you want to keep. Single quotation marks do not exclude text from translation.
Text inside (...) is translated even within protected quotes. For example, "안녕 (웃으며)" becomes "안녕 (smiling)". Backticks preserve the entire enclosed text, including parentheses.
Try it
Paste this text with Auto-detect → English and Quotes + backticks:
여성이 카메라를 보며 손을 흔든다.
그녀가 "좋은 아침~ 오늘도 반가워요."라고 말한다.
배경의 표지판에는 `오늘도 좋은 하루`라고 적혀 있다.
The screenshot shows this result:
A woman waves her hand while looking at the camera.
She says "좋은 아침~ 오늘도 반가워요.".
The sign in the background reads `오늘도 좋은 하루`.
| Mode | Preserves |

Interface
- Supports 249 Google Translate target languages.
- The UI follows ComfyUI's language setting. English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean are supported.
- Translations are saved with the workflow.
- Up to 5,000 source characters per request.
- Google: no model installation or API key; an internet connection is required.
- Local OPUS-MT: install once, then translate offline on CPU. Neither engine uses VRAM.
Installation
From the ComfyUI custom_nodes directory:
git clone https://github.com/cozdx1/ComfyUI-Google-Translate-Plus.git
Restart ComfyUI and refresh the browser. To update a manual installation, run git pull in the cloned directory, then restart and refresh.
Offline CPU translation
Select Local OPUS-MT (CPU) in backend to translate Korean → English locally. Auto-detect also accepts Korean input. English text is kept unchanged.
- CPU INT8 inference; no VRAM, API key, credits, or external translation requests.
- Quotes and backticks stay protected; parentheses inside quotes are translated.
- Google remains the default engine. Local mode supports Korean → English only.
Use ComfyUI's Python and run these commands from the ComfyUI folder:
python -m pip install "ctranslate2>=4.6,<5" "sentencepiece>=0.2,<1"
python custom_nodes/ComfyUI-Google-Translate-Plus/install_local_model.py --models-dir models
For Windows portable, replace python with ..\python_embeded\python.exe.
The installer downloads the original OPUS-MT archive (about 777 MB), verifies its checksum, and converts it to INT8 (about 222 MB). The model is saved in models/translation/opus-mt-tc-big-ko-en-int8. Existing complete models are kept. Restart ComfyUI and refresh the browser after setup.
Short instructions work best; long sentences can lose subjects or small details. Protected sections are translated separately from the surrounding text, so they can affect phrasing.
Model: Helsinki-NLP OPUS-MT Korean → English, CC-BY-4.0. The installer uses the original Marian weights and separate vocabularies.
